Oh, the indignity of running for president.
In case you thought the Garbage Pail Kids trading cards were no longer relevant (or no longer in existence) let me inform you that the gross-out eighties brand just released parody cards of nine presidential candidates, including one for Ben Carson (under two different names, natch).
“Brutal Ben” (aka “Cruel Carson”) depicts the celebrated neurosurgeon — armed with a knife, a hammer, and a baseball bat — kicking away the crutch of a bandaged up patient outside of an “Obamacare Clinic.” As Garbage Pail Kids go, it’s actually pretty sophisticated, marrying elements from Carson’s recollections of his youth as a ne’er-do-well to his current opposition to the Affordable Care Act specifically and social welfare programs in general. All of which seems incongruous with someone who made his name on his Herculean efforts to save lives.
The parody trading card series had previously lampooned Carson in their limited edition Iowa Caucus series, which featured a much more gory take on Carson, under the names “Brainy Ben” and “Clueless Carson.”
