Sondheim 2026 Art Prize Finalists: Award Ceremony

This year’s Janet & Walter Sondheim Art Prize Finalists Exhibition showcases the work of the five finalists—Thea Canlas, Leigh Davis, Brandon Donahue-Shipp, Curran Hatleberg, Danni O’Brien. The prestigious competition awards a $30,000 fellowship to assist in furthering the career of a visual artist or visual artist collaborators living and working in the greater Baltimore region. At this award ceremony and reception, be among the first to celebrate the 2026 winner and mingle with members of Baltimore’s arts community.
The 21st annual Janet & Walter Sondheim Art Prize Finalists Exhibition is co-hosted and presented in conjunction with Create Baltimore, on view at the Walters from June 25 through September 13 in Level 2 of Hackerman House at One West Mount Vernon Place.
FEMME is a contemporary art fair that puts women at the center — as artists, leaders, and economic forces. Launching in Washington, DC on Women’s Equality Day, FEMME brings together artists from across the country with collectors, brands, civic leaders, and the public for conversation, commerce, and cultural momentum.
Created by USAN USAN and Our Daughters’ Futures Fund, FEMME is designed to do more than showcase work. It is built to move resources, visibility, and opportunity directly to women artists, with 100% of artwork sales going to the artists themselves.

Baltimore’s biggest DIY music festival is back for it’s third year! Subscape is a 3 day, 3 stage, 60+ band celebration of the subversive elements fueling Baltimore’s bleeding-edge underground. Like Baltimore’s previous “Scapes” (Ratscape, Whartscape, Scape Scape, and Mix Tape), Subscape is a DIY, all-volunteer effort to uplift local artists and musicians.
THE DIFFERENCE? THIS FESTIVAL IS COMPLETELY FREE TO ATTEND!
The festival runs August 28th through August 30th at Current Space and Le Mondo.
