The Daily Hustle: The Photographs of I. Henry Phillips, Sr.
Ongoing through February 2026
@ Baltimore Museum of Industry

A photo exhibition celebrating resilience, community, and grace.

Webster Phillips and the Baltimore Museum of Industry are proud to present “The Daily Hustle” — a collection of photographs that depict Baltimore’s Black workers and business owners, emphasizing their grace, style, and community strength. These images challenge common perceptions of Baltimore as impoverished and crime-ridden, instead highlighting a vibrant cultural history often erased by redlining and disinvestment. They demonstrate how entrepreneurship and labor build community, portraying African American neighborhoods and street corners as symbols of hope.

Webster Phillips, a third-generation photographer and storyteller, curated this meaningful collection, which spotlights the enduring spirit and contributions of Baltimore’s Black community. The exhibit aims to foster optimism, promote racial equity, and deepen understanding of the city’s diverse workforce.

Windows on North + Charles | Opening Reception
Tuesday, August 26 :: 7pm
@ SNF Parkway Theatre

Join us for a reception celebrating the opening of our 2026 Windows on North+Charles exhibition! Artists who created the projections for 26 windows throughout Station North will be present, including Gutierrez Memorial Fund Legacy Award artists Kyle Yearwood – with his Baltimore Galaxy Project n the Charles Street windows of the Parkway Lounge – and Cathy Cook – with her new work Equilibrium, in the North Avenue windows of the Lounge.

There will be light refreshments and words of welcome from Parkway staff, as well as tours of the works throughout the neighborhood with some of the artists.

In addition to the Parkway, the films will be on public display at Club Car, Ema’s Corner, Two7Studio and Impact Hub. Many thanks to the artists, to our neighborhood partners, to the Gutierrez Memorial Fund and to project manager Jason Charney for making this free community exhibition possible!

Snoozing Sun | Opening Reception
Friday, August 29 :: 6-9pm
@ Gallery CA

Gallery CA is proud to present Snoozing Sun, a solo exhibition from Baltimore based artist Yoon Sun Shin. The exhibition will be on view from Friday, August 29th, through September 26th, with an opening reception on Friday, August 29th, from 6-9 pm. There will be more programming announcements to follow.

Yoon Sun’s work as a painter and visual artist is rooted in his experimentation with craft, playful exploration of technique, and materials. His background in framing and the use of imperfect materials around him inform this body of work, as well as an appreciation for nature and the camaraderie of spending time in it. Passionate about skateboarding and fishing, these meditative practices are reflected in the three distinct but overlapping visual languages presented in Snoozing Sun, which include mixed media, oils, as well as found objects in the use of collaged readymades in the form of etch a sketch.

About The Artist: Yoon Sun Shin is an artist, custom picture framer, and skateboarder born in Incheon, South Korea. If he’s not making frames for collectors and museums, you’d find him in and around Baltimore city riding his skateboard, exploring his surroundings. His other passions involve fishing and being in nature which he uses as inspiration for his art practice.

About GALLERY CA: GALLERY CA is a contemporary arts space devoted to showcasing residents, local, regional, national and international artists. The gallery also serves as an agent for community engagement by offering regular programming and creating sustainable partnerships with local arts institutions and community organizations. Gallery CA is located on the ground floor of City Arts apartments, one of two residential buildings providing affordable live/work spaces for practicing artists.
