Imagine a place where K-8 learning is not confined to four walls, but unfolds across open fields, wooded trails, and quiet corners of campus that invite students to wonder, explore, and discover. Located on Charles Street in Towson, Cambridge School’s campus plays an important role in this co-ed, Christ-centered community of learners. “From kindergarten to eighth grade, students are invited to a rich feast of learning that is infused with inquiry and imagination, drawing them deeper into the habit of learning that will shape the rhythm of their lives,” says Outdoor Education Teacher Ann Kumpf.

At Cambridge, children bring their full selves to the learning experience: their questions, interests, gifts, struggles, friendships, faith, and growing sense of identity. They are known as whole persons, made in the image of God and full of curiosity, dignity, and capacity. They are hungry to encounter new ideas, master new skills, and enter into the joy of discovery. Through thoughtful instruction, rich conversation, hands-on experiences, and meaningful exploration, students engage with ideas not only by reading or listening, but by observing, asking questions, experimenting, creating, and making connections.

Inside the classroom, they enter into stories, history, science, mathematics, language, art, Scripture, and discussion in ways that help them see how knowledge is beautifully connected. Outside the classroom, those same ideas often come alive in fresh and memorable ways. A creek can become the setting for a literary journey, a patch of earth can become an archaeological dig, and the natural world can become a living laboratory for careful observation and inquiry. The campus gives students room to think deeply, move freely, work collaboratively, and engage imaginatively.

Through the school’s integral approach to education, subjects are not viewed as isolated pieces of information, but as interconnected ways of understanding God, themelves, and the world. At Cambridge, the campus itself is part of the curriculum: a place where hearts and minds are inspired, where learning moves naturally between indoors and outdoors, and where students discover that God’s world is rich with truth, beauty, and goodness.
