Chaka Khan has joined the lineup for Artscape 2024.

Mayor Brandon Scott announced on Monday that the 10-time Grammy Award winner will be the festival’s headliner on Friday, Aug. 2.

#Baltimore, y’all thought we were done with the Artscape lineup? Nope!,” Scott said on Instagram. “The incomparable, legendary @chakakhan will hit the stage on Friday, August 2nd, as she continues to celebrate 50 incredible years of her music!”

Born Yvette Marie Stevens and known for songs such as “Tell Me Something Good,” “Sweet Thing,” and “Ain’t Nobody,” Khan, 71, first performed at Artscape in 1993.  Opening for her will be Maeta, an alternative R&B singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles.

This will be the 40th edition of Artscape, and it will be held in Baltimore’s Mount Royal cultural district and Station North Arts District from Aug. 2 to 4.

Previously-announced performers include: Sheila E. as the headliner on Aug. 3 and The Original Wailers featuring Al Anderson to close out the festival on Aug. 4. More information is available at Artscape.org.
