The Charm City Circulator hasn’t been doing so well recently. There was a financial scandal, and then a possible plan to charge $1 for the free bus rides, and then the removal of the bus’ Banner Route, which ran through Locust Point and all the way to Ft. McHenry.
Plenty of people objected to the cuts to the Banner Route; state reps spoke out, saying it was “impossible to overstate the frustration” at the elimination of the route. The budget cuts were supposed to go into effect later this month.
Fortunately, the City Council–led by Councilmember Eric Costello –has come up with the money to keep the Circulator funded, and to keep the Banner Route running. Phew!
