Baltimore’s summer festival season will culminate in the fourth annual Charm City Live festival this weekend, featuring live music performances, a virtual reality experience, a smoothie bike, and more.
The free event will take place Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. at the War Memorial Plaza in downtown Baltimore.
“We are ending the summer strong with the fourth annual Charm City Live festival right in downtown Baltimore,” Mayor Brandon Scott said in a statement. “This is a fun, free celebration of our city’s charm and community that has something for everybody. So, join us and bring the whole family with you!”
Music artists Lucky Daye, The-Dream, Jeffrey Osborne and Vivian Green will entertain audience members.
Attendees can also enjoy local food and merchandise vendors, a basketball pop-up from DTLR, a smoothie Bike from Rec and Parks, a kid zone with animals from Carrie Murray Nature Center, face painting, inflatable games, oversized games, STEM activities, a virtual reality avatar kiosk from the Peale Museum, and other fun activities for the whole family.
The Baltimore City Department of Human Resources will also provide an opportunity for guests to learn about and explore different career pathways with agencies in attendance. Visitors can also receive resources and QR codes to online applications and network with agency leaders.
To enter the festival, attendees must pass through one of two security checkpoint entrances: the north entrance on Gay Street south of East Saratoga Street, or the south entrance on Gay Street north of East Baltimore Street.
Festival-goers are prohibited from bringing the following items into the event: weapons, outside food or drink, large bags (small clear bags are allowed), backpacks, professional cameras (GoPros are allowed), and recording devices.
Guests under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older. Each adult may accompany up to six minors. Attendees may need to show a valid photo ID to verify their age.
Residents should be mindful of road closures at Gay, Baltimore, Saratoga, Lexington, and Fayette streets. Detours will be in place to help navigate around the festival.
