The Cordish Family Foundation, which is the benevolent arm of the family that founded development firm, The Cordish Companies, announced grant to fund a new Judy Center. The “lead gift” will fund a “suite” of five new Judy Centers opening in the city.

Established in 2000, the Centers help prepare at-risk youth for school before they enter kindergarten by connecting services.

“I live and work in Baltimore City, and this is an opportunity, at a critical time, to help its at-risk children get the services they need to succeed in their critical early years in school,”¬†said Cordish Family Foundation Trustee Jonathan Cordish.

The amount of the gift was not disclosed.
