A total of 139,037 COVID-19 booster shots have been administered to Marylanders as of Friday morning.

Of the initial doses of coronavirus vaccines, 59.878% of Marylanders received both doses of a two-dose vaccine while 5.049% received a single-dose vaccine.

Maryland has confirmed a total of 541,627 positive COVID-19 cases to date, including 7,757 that were recorded since last Friday, Oct. 1.

Meanwhile, 4,263,495 Marylanders have tested negative for coronavirus to date.

A total of 10,333 Marylanders are confirmed to have died from coronavirus, with 104 of those deaths recorded over the past seven days. There are also 230 Marylanders whose deaths are suspected to be related to coronavirus.

Maryland’s seven-day average positivity rate currently sits at 3.78%. This time last week, it was 4.09%.

There are currently 791 Marylanders hospitalized with COVID-19, including 597 in acute care and 194 in intensive care.

Maryland’s coronavirus hospitalizations are higher than a week ago, when the state saw 776 COVID-19 patients.

Of the current COVID-19 hospitalized patients, 784 are adults and seven are children. There are 594 adults in acute care and 190 in intensive care, while three children are in acute care and four are in intensive care.

As of Friday, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties are currently experiencing substantial levels of coronavirus transmission. Meanwhile, the other 21 jurisdictions across Maryland are experiencing high coronavirus transmission, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported.
