There have been a total of 352,781 COVID-19 booster shots administered in Maryland, including 99,772 since last Friday.

The state health department this week launched a new online portal at covidvax.maryland.gov where Marylanders can check whether they are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine booster shot. Users are asked the brand and date(s) of their initial vaccine dose(s) to determine eligibility.

Of the initial doses of coronavirus vaccines, 61.313% of Marylanders received both doses of a two-dose vaccine, including Pfizer and Moderna, and 5.155% received a single-dose vaccine, including Johnson & Johnson.

Maryland has confirmed a total of 559,763 positive coronavirus cases to date, including 5,307 cases newly recorded since last Friday.

Meanwhile, Maryland has recorded a total of 4,424,171 negative coronavirus tests to date.

A total of 10,634 Marylanders are confirmed to have died from coronavirus, including 80 people whose deaths were recorded in the last seven days. There are also 231 Marylanders whose deaths are suspected to be related to the virus.

Howard and Montgomery counties are experiencing moderate levels of coronavirus transmission, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The CDC has recorded substantial transmission levels in eight other Maryland jurisdictions: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Carroll, Charles, Prince George’s, and Worcester counties and Baltimore City.

Maryland’s remaining 14 jurisdictions are experiencing high levels of coronavirus transmission, including Allegany, Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Frederick, Garrett, Harford, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Somerset, St. Mary’s, Talbot, Washington, and Wicomico counties.

Maryland’s seven-day average positivity rate sits at 3.06% as of Friday.

There are currently 590 Marylanders hospitalized due to COVID-19. Of the state’s 424 acute care COVID patients, 420 are adults and four are children. Of the state’s 166 COVID patients in intensive care, 164 are adults and two are children.
