Even if I were a huge fan of Bill Cosby (I used to be!) and even if I felt that somehow the allegations of more than three dozen women likely amounted to nothing (hard to believe!), I can’t imagine going to a Cosby standup set and expecting to have a nice, humorous time.
But, when Cosby performed at the Lyric Opera House Friday night, some people did, in fact, go there to try and laugh. Others showed up to protest the performance. About 20, according to the Baltimore Sun.
One Cosby protestor even got inside and interrupted one of Cosby’s jokes to remind him, “Thirty-eight women spoke up and called you a rapist.”
The Sun reported that Cosby went on to tell jokes about appreciating Jesus’s leniency with sinners.
