The video was first shown at the Top of the World Observation Level of the Baltimore World Trade Center during a press conference with Mayor Brandon M. Scott. In the video, Create Baltimore CEO Robyn Murphy asks, โHow will you create Baltimore?โ The video features Murphy narrating the different ways Create Baltimore facilitates public art and local artists, more than 30 of whom appear in the Anthem video as well.

โIt is more than a question; it is a challenge,” said Murphy. โThe question I ask is the throughline of our rebrand. Create is a verb; and we are reenergized by newfound optimism and action. Art is not a luxury; for many, it is a lifeline. Art is the heartbeat of any city; so, itโs no wonder this project resonated at the level that it did. A huge shoutout to my team at Create Baltimore and community partners who produced this Valentine to our city, which showcases not only the power of art but the power of the people.โ
The Anthem video was produced by Tia Goodson, who is also Create Baltimoreโs chief marketing and programs officer. It featured many of the activations under the purview of Create Baltimore, like Artscape, the Farmerโs Market, and more than 250 murals across the city. It also included well-known cultural spaces like the Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower, Top of the World Observation Level at the World Trade Center, Cloisters Castle and School 33 Art Center.
โIt was beautiful to see the city come together for this project,โ Goodson said. โBaltimore is a city powered by its artistic community and as an organization we believe in that power, and we wanted it on full display. A big thank you to the artists and the small businesses and anchor institutions like the Orioles, the Ravens, and the Walters Art Museum that supported us in this endeavor.โ
In addition to featuring Murphy and being produced by Goodson, the Create Baltimore Anthem video crew included Stuart Rustonย as director, DP, and editor; Ime Umohย as the drone operator; Mebane Design Studioย creating motion graphics; Planitย for logo design; and Andrew Salomone as the sound mixer.
