A group of local musicians will pay tribute to the late Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, who died last week of pancreatic cancer, with a September concert at the Creative Alliance.

Dubbed “Respect: A Homegoing Tribute Concert Honoring Aretha Franklin,” the Sept. 23 show will include performances by Lea Gilmore, Navasha Daya, Ama Chandra, Shalanda Hansboro, The Steam Dollz, Omnia Azar, Alexis Taylor and Jonathan Gilmore. Local writer Petula Caesar will serve as host, and other special guests will be announced at a later date, according to the venue.

The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Creative Alliance recommends buying tickets, which cost $20 or $17 for members, in advance.
