The Republican establishment’s arm’s-length embrace of presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump is mystifying to many, but not to David Simon.
The Wire creator and former Baltimore Sun reporter tweeted a link to a New Yorker article that explores top Republicans’ public support for a nominee whose statements and policies they continue to denounce. Simon tacked on a lesson he learned after spending a year in the Baltimore Police Department’s Homicide Unit: “Humans get used to anything.”
