Maybe you can’t hurry love, but you can say you’re coming out to see the iconic Diana Ross at The Lyric in Baltimore if you can snag a ticket when they go on sale March 8.

The legendary singer and actress will perform her hits during her “Beautiful Love Performances: Legacy 2024 Tour” for one night in Baltimore on Sunday, May 12, at 7 p.m. This happens to also be Mother’s Day, if you want to demonstrate the endless love you have for your mom or a special maternal figure in your life.

Diana Ross earned a Guinness World Record in 1993 for her success in the United States and United Kingdom, having more hits than any other female artist on the charts, totaling more than 75 hit singles over the course of her career. In 2017, the American Music Awards presented Ross with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

She has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. She has also won the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Hero Award, the NAACP Entertainment Award, the Billboard’s Female Entertainer of the Century Award, and The Soul Train Legend Award. Her songs have more than 100 million streams, downloads, and sales around the world.

Ross was born in 1944 in Detroit, Michigan. She became lead singer of The Supremes, Motown’s most successful act during the 1960s and the best-charting female group in history. Their number-one hits on the US. Billboard Hot 100 include “Where Did Our Love Go,” “Baby Love,” “Come See About Me,” and “Stop! In the Name of Love.”

She left The Supremes in 1970 to embark on a solo music career and also enjoyed mainstream success as an actress. Her number one singles include “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “Everything is Everything,” “Touch Me in the Morning,” “Upside Down,” and “Endless Love” — a duet with Lionel Richie.

Ross won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance as Billie Holiday in the film “Lady Sings the Blues.” She was the first African American actress to receive an Academy Award nomination for a debut performance in a film. Other movie appearances include starring turns in “The Wiz” and “Out of Darkness,” the latter of which earned her a Golden Globe nomination.

In January 2024, Ross was announced as the face of the fashion house Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello’s new campaign, featuring the label’s spring 2024 collection.

Tickets for the “Beautiful Love Performances: Legacy 2024 Tour” start at $59, plus applicable fees. They go on sale Friday, March 8 at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster, the Lyric’s website, or in person at the Lyric Box Office.
