A robber beat the morning rush at a North Baltimore Starbucks last week, and got out with the cash.
Around 4:50 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, a man walked into the Starbucks location at 6225 N. Charles St., in Woodbrook, police said. Like many customers, he knew his order.
The suspect displayed a handgun to a barista, and demanded money. The barista turned over money, and the suspect fled. Police did not provide a description of the suspect or the amount of money stolen.
The North Charles Street location is popular with many kids and parents in the carpooling crowd who stop in on the way to the many private schools in Roland Park. The coffee shop opens at 5:00 a.m. each morning, and employees arrive at 4 a.m. to prepare, one unnamed barista said.
“It’s scary to think that there was a robber there just a few hours before I was there with my kids,” said one mom. “I’m just glad no one was hurt.”
