A friend recently said, โ€œThe secret to a happy marriage is lots of jigsaw puzzles.โ€ Thereโ€™s a bit more to it than that, I imagine, but it is pretty satisfying to have a completed puzzle on the table after meticulously working to find out how all the pieces connect.

Or, as the event description for tonightโ€™s Jigsaw JAM at Windup space dramatically describes it, โ€œbring ORDER to CHAOS.โ€ Yes, we could all use the zen that comes from putting together a jigsaw puzzle in this crazy, messed-up worldโ€“especially as the holiday season looms.

The event is just as it sounds: a night where people can come together to work at a jigsaw puzzle. In addition to that, there will also be booze-sippingโ€“including hot drinks for the brisk weatherโ€“and โ€œweirdโ€ classical music. There will be several puzzles at the venue, but bringing your own is encouraged.

5-10 p.m., The Windup Space, 12 W. North Ave., (410) 244-8855, thewindupspace.com, free admission.
