We hope you checked our story about the historic chemical reform bill that was signed today by President Obama. We’re offering a chance to try one of the products that all the legislating is about.
The Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety Act for the 21st Century (whew, that’s a long name) is a big deal. In the U.S., chemicals are basically unregulated. The 1976 Toxic Substance Control Act is so weak that over 84,000 chemicals have been introduced commercially with scant testing for health and environmental safety factors. The Environmental Protection Agency could not even ban the known carcinogen asbestos. Hard to believe, but true.
We also featured Hamed Alaghebandian, the CEO of Happy Farm Botanicals. This Maryland-based laboratory manufactures natural and organic products for many of the beauty industry’s top players. Happy Farms Botanicals also sells its own brands: Everyday Botanicals for women and their men’s grooming brand PRZMAN.
“The challenge that we’ve run into is that people question if natural and organic products really work,” said Alaghebandian. “We’ve developed products that are formulated with a minimum toxicity that work as well, and often better than conventional products.”
Need some inspiration to try natural hair care products? Enter our Everyday Botanicals giveaway to win one of three shampoo and conditioner sets. To enter, visit this link and leave a comment at the bottom. Winners will be chosen at random on Tuesday, June 28, at 5 p.m. Good luck!
