Charles Grant, a former NFL player for the New Orleans Saints, was fired from a coaching gig at Maryland’s Bowie State University after video surfaced that showed him slamming a student to the ground. As we’ve become used to hearing this fall, TMZ Sports broke the story.
Grant, who played defensive lineman in the NFL and won a Super Bowl with the Saints, was a volunteer coach at Bowie State.
The video (available here) shows Grant, who is clearly bigger than the student, getting in the student’s face in a BSU gym. As the two exchange words, Grant then goes after the student, and body slams him.
In addition to the administration’s action of firing Grant, university police are investigating the incident.
