Southwest Baltimore Families Make Holiday Traditions High Tech
BMe, FutureMakers and the Baltimore City Robotics Center present Family Circuits – an Electronics and Sewing Day for Parents and Children—a day of textile and electronics workshops for grade school aged children and their parents at Baltimore City Robotics Center, located at 1001 West Pratt Street 2nd floor in Baltimore, MD on Sunday, December 15 from 10 AM to 4 PM.

BMe – Black Male Engagement – has partnered with the Baltimore City Robotics Center and FutureMakers to bring STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) workshops to Southewst Baltimore! Families can explore hands-on how technology and holiday craft traditions combine! Family Circuits is a unique hands-on holiday craft event where parents and their children create original, futuristic textile and electronic craft projects for learning, sharing, and gifting. FutureMakers provides the tools, materials, and expert coaches – participants provide curiosity and cheer! Workshops include:
Build your own motorized drawing robot to help you design festive papers for gift-wrapping!
KIDmade Mini Sketchooks
Use a real sewing machine to bind, embellish, and illustrate a sketch journal.
Create your own illuminated snowflake from specialty fabrics and papers, color cycling LEDs and handmade electronic circuits.
LED Paper Lanterns
Make beautiful LED-powered lanterns with intricate machine-pierced patterns and a handmade switch! Learn how to control a real sewing machine!
