Courtesy Citybizlist – This year’s Forbes list of 100 highest earning athletes has a number of changes, including at the top. Athletes from 11 different sports and 23 countries qualified for the top 100. Only 13 football players from NFL qualified. Baseball led the way with 27 players, thanks to an explosion in local TV money.
Tiger Woods’ return after his fall from grace is nothing short of awe-inspiring. The six victories over the past six months and the $78.1 million he earned over the last year from prize money, endorsements, appearance fees and golf course design work, have put him back at No. 1 on Forbes’ annual ranking of the world’s highest-paid athletes — a spot he occupied every year from 2001 until 2012.
