Nurturing a love of literature
Step into Friends’ Lower School library and you’ll find it’s the kind of place you want to stay awhile. The wide sunlit windows, the inviting low-slung brightly colored chairs, and our gregarious librarians who read with conviction to inquisitive students are just some of the reasons to linger. In this inviting setting, students cultivate a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.

When the students come to the library, we often expose them to literature using the latest technology. We use Skype to speak with authors who are part of our Visiting Authors series, a special component of our library program. We read books to students as they’re displayed on a big screen, which allows for better visualization and dissection of page layout and design.
