Later Monday afternoon, Hogan said in another statement that he had received a positive PCR test result and that he was experiencing cold-like symptoms.

The governor urged Marylanders to get vaccinated and boosted as the omnicron variant becomes dominant.

โ€œWith the Omicron variant becoming increasingly dominant, I want to again urge Marylanders who havenโ€™t yet to go out and get your booster shot as soon as possible,โ€ Hogan said in his statement Monday afternoon.

Also on Monday, the state Health Department resumed online disclosure of Covid data in Maryland, after a cyber attack shut the site down for more than two weeks. Officials said no personal information was compromised, but the gap in data reporting prevented Marylanders from tracking the growth in cases.

This article has been updated with the results of Hoganโ€™s PCR test, which came back positive Monday.
