Hint: Fewer than two.
Yep, you read that right: Presidential hopeful (and former Baltimore Mayor/Maryland Governor) Martin O’Malley held a campaign event in Iowa yesterday, and only one dude showed up. Now, it should be pointed out that there were terrible winter storms in Iowa that might have prevented a bigger crowd from stopping by. But still — that sounds like a pretty bleak day of campaigning for poor O’Malley, who has consistently lingered at the very bottom of the polls, even here in his home state. Other recent Iowa events have been similarly “intimate,” with a “dinner table conversation” vibe — in other words, not well attended at all.
Even worse news? The one person who showed up at the O’Malley event on Monday isn’t even sure whether to vote for him or not. Yeesh.
