Family-friendly Halloween events usually donโ€™t take place on All Hallows Eve itself, but on the plus side thereโ€™s usually lots of cute kiddie costumes in one place. And, thereโ€™s usually something for the adults that doesnโ€™t involve knocking on doors, which, when you think about it, is pretty creepy in itself. A couple events are coming up this weekend.

On Saturday, Oct. 24, the Can Company in Canton is hosting its first Trick or Treat event from 1-4 p.m. The next day, Belvedere Square hosts its annual Trick or Treat event at the same time.

Along with trick-or-treating around the respective mixed use developments with carefully preserved old school charm, kids will have a chance to show off their getups in a costume contest, and the White Marsh School of Ballet is leading everyone in a donโ€™t-call-it-a-flashmob dance to Michael Jacksonโ€™s โ€œThriller.โ€ Theyโ€™re charging $5 to enter, but all proceeds benefit the Canton Dog Park or the Govans Branch of the Enoch Pratt Free Library.
