Pulling an 1,800 lb. horse out of a ditch takes more than a few guys, or even a few trucks. Howard County firefighters had to call in a construction crane to rescue a Clydesdale on Thursday.

A fire department report states that the 7-year-old horse was reported trapped next to a house in Westview.

Firefighters called in backup from Baltimore County, but still couldn’t rescue the horse. So, they called in a crane. In all, it took 90 minutes to lift the Clydesdale out of the ditch.

The cause of the horse’s fall was not reported.
