The new leader of Baltimore’s one-year-old casino has seen how gambling is done in places that are famous for gambling.
Erin Chamberlin was tapped Monday to replace Chad Barnhill as GM of the Horseshoe. Barnhill departed last month for Cincinnati, leaving the vacancy. Chamberlin has previously general manager at Planet Hollywood Casino and Resort in Vegas. In Atlantic City, she worked at various Caesars Entertainment properties over six years.
“Having worked at premier resorts around the country, including in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, it’s clear to me that Horseshoe Baltimore has enormous potential to continue the growth it has enjoyed to date,” she said in a statement. Chamberlin’s hiring is subject to regulatory approval.
After initial questions, Horseshoe Casino gained revenue to put its gains up nearly 10 percent for the year. We’ll see if a new face calling the shots keeps the Russell St. spot riding high.
