What: Towson Estates is one of those places where you sort of know where it is, you thinkโ€ฆ In actuality, itโ€™s across Joppa Road, near Goucher Boulevard, sort of near the Target in Towson. Itโ€™s a tucked-away neighborhood full of quirky houses, many of them stone, all of varying architectural styles.

This house, one of four identical houses on the corner of Center and Edgemont Roads, is a charming little gem. Walk up the flower-lined front path to the arched front door, topped by a wrought iron Juliet balcony. Enter through a vestibule to the front hall with French doors opening to the living room with a stone wood-burning fireplace and built-in bookshelves.

Across the hall, you will find a bright dining room, which leads to the adjacent eat-in kitchen. From there, move to the adjoining solarium with its Gothic-style windows and other details.

Upstairs you will find the same hardwood floors as on the first floor in the halls and bedrooms. The primary suite has double closets, a sitting area, and an en-suite bathroom. The two additional bedrooms share a full bath, and one of the bedrooms has access to the Juliet balcony.

The lower floor features a family room with hard-wood floors, stone walls and a stone fireplace. The original exposed beams complete the rustic look. Additionally, there is a laundry room, a half-bath and a former dark-room, which can be converted into something else.

The property has a stone pond, a double stone garage and a private driveway, and is surrounded by a wide range of trees and bushes.

Where: Towson Estates is nestled between Joppa Road and Goucher Boulevard, just across from the Towson Marketplace and the Towson Target. Itโ€™s tucked back and there are no through streets. ย

Final Appraisal: This โ€œmini castleโ€ is one of four nearly identical houses on the four corners of an intersection. If you are a plant-lover, the solarium is a perfect place for year-round growing. The listing for the house is here.
