Itโ€™s transition time in Baltimore โ€“ and all over the country โ€“ as we get a few final lazy days of summer before jumping into fall football, fun, and flavors.

Several local restaurants are marking this in-between time with special events, parties and deals. Hereโ€™s a look at whatโ€™s coming up:

Customer appreciation at The Food Market

On Saturday and Sunday, The Food Market will offer half off all brunch checks and kids will eat free. Itโ€™s the Hampden eateryโ€™s way of saying thank you and good job to everyone who made it through the long first week of school / last week of โ€œsummer.โ€

LDW at Sagamore Pendry Baltimore

Sagamore Pendry Baltimore is celebrating the unofficial end of summer with a Labor Day Weekend party on Saturday, August 30. The afternoon bash includes drink specials from Long Drink, summery food including sugarcane cilantro-lime shrimp skewers and heirloom tomato caprese, and more.

During the party, the hotel pool, which is usually only open to hotel guests, is also open to the local public.

Labor Day festivities at Boordy

Boordy is busy this weekend, with multiple events and lots of fun. On Saturday, there will be live music all afternoon and into the evening, with food by Libโ€™s Grill and Prigel Family Creamery.

Sunday afternoon is Family Day with food from La Barrita. Sunday evening, the winery is hosting a ticketed, private fundraiser โ€“ but tickets will be available for purchase on Sunday afternoon.

Labor Day, Boordy is open again, with live music from noon to 5 p.m. and food from Box Hill.

Bluefin tuna at Azumi

On Wednesday, Azumi hosts a cocktail party with an exciting centerpiece: the carving of a whole bluefin tuna. In addition to the tuna carving, the ticketed event features cocktails, stations with hand rolls, nigiri, fried rice and vegetable teppanyaki, and desserts.

Sunset Jams returns

Sunset Jams, the free weekly concert series held in Rash Park on Fridays in early autumn, returns for the season on Sept. 5. Each week, the event showcases a Baltimore-based musician โ€“ plus visits from some of the cityโ€™s most beloved food trucks, including Underground Pizza and Koshary Corner.

OneDo Coffee Roasters, which is located at Rash Field Cafรฉ, will also have craft cocktails for sale during the concerts.

Fridayโ€™s kickoff features a performance from the West Baltimore Mass Choir.
