From steaks for dads to creative cocktail and wine dinners, this week has a little bit of something for everyone. Hereโs a look at whatโs coming up in the Baltimore food world:
Openings & announcements
Ceceโs Roland Park opened in Cross Keys on Thursday โ and its casual sister spot, Ceceโs Kitchen, opens in the adjoining space on Sunday. Both menus look fantastic โ and the space includes an outdoor patio thatโs perfect for summertime use.
The Food Market crew has opened a new outdoor spot, Vacation & Chill, in the Merriweather District in Columbia.
Happy anniversary to Little Donnaโs, which celebrated two years this past week.
Fells Point Farmers Market is moving for the weekend
The Fells Point Farmers Market is moving down the street this Saturday, popping up at Wills Wharf Plaza, which is next to Attmanโs Deli in Harbor Point. The market will include its usual great vendors plus a collab with Bmore Flea.
Fatherโs Day plans
Fatherโs Day doesnโt get the same kind of brunch hype that Motherโs Day does โ but it is still a good opportunity to take your dad out to eat.
True Chesapeake Oyster Co. is offering half-price on oysters by the dozen and draft beers for all dads on Fatherโs Day.
Guinness Open Gate Brewery is bringing back its annual Guinness Grills for Dad event. Tickets to the event include a steak, two sides, dessert and a beer in an engraved glass to take home. The taproom menu is also available and there will be live music throughout the afternoon.ย
At The Ruxton, Fatherโs Day is heavy on the meat โ the restaurant offers an excellent selection of dry-aged steaks (among many other things).
La Calle is all about brunch for dad this Fatherโs Day (though the restaurant will also be open for later, if thatโs what your dad prefers).
Pride bevs & more
Ouzo Beach, Monarque and the Waterfront Hotel have a special summery Pride cocktail available this month. At all three restaurants, all proceeds from the sale of each Pride drink will be donated to Baltimore Community Foundationโs LGBTQ Fund. Plus, $1 from each Crush sale at any Atlas Restaurant Group property will be donated to the fund.
All day on Friday, June 14, Foreman Wolf restaurants will donate a portion of sales to The Pride Center of Maryland. Johnnyโs and Petit Louis are among the restaurants participating.
Pasta at Le Comptoir
On Sunday afternoon, Le Comptoir du Vin is hosting another installment of Adriana Galloโs pasta workshop. The event includes instruction in pasta-making as well as a wine tasting.
Ggoma + Southpaw + Foraged
Monday, Ggoma Supper Club is teaming up with Southpaw for a pop-up dinner at Foraged Eatery. The menu for the collab is killer, with six courses (two desserts!) including dishes like marinated tomatoes with peanut sambal and Chapel Creamery queso fresco, and green curry squash with blue crab and sweet basil.
Mulberry Madness
On Wednesday, the Baltimore Orchard Project hosts its 10th annual Mulberry Madness event. The party, which is a fundraiser for the organization, will be held at Gertrudeโs from 5 to 7 p.m. The menu includes heavy apps and a signature cocktail made from fruit foraged locally.
Austrian wine dinner
Also on Wednesday, Heritage Smokehouse is hosting a wine dinner featuring the wines of Landhaus Mayer in Austria. The meal features four courses, each paired with a different wine, with matchups like a smoked soft shell crab with lime, lemongrass, ginger, jalapeno and peak leaves paired with the wineryโs 2022 Riesling.
Cureate applications open
Cureate, the small business accelerator program focused on local health/food products and concepts, is currently accepting applications for its upcoming session, which will take place in the fall.
The organization is looking for 20 participants in the program, which assists small businesses and provides them with resources to help them thrive in the food business โ which can be a tough one.
