This week is full of exciting news in the Baltimore restaurant world, from openings to fun festivals. Here’s a look at what’s coming up:

Openings & announcements

Alma Cocina Latina’s Lanvale St. kitchen window – for takeout arepas – opens on Thursday. The window will be open Thursday through Saturday, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

On Tuesday, Costa’s Inn opened its new location in Timonium. The iconic crab house has taken over the upstairs space at the Fairgrounds, which was formerly occupied by Nick’s. While Costa’s is still only serving steamed crabs at its original location in Dundalk, diners at the Fairgrounds can grab crab cakes and more.

Foraged Eatery is teaming up with Black Ankle Vineyards – and not just for a one-off collab dinner. The Station North restaurant will operate a food truck at the vineyard, starting later this summer.

Cypriana’s new Maple Lawn location is now open.

Café Gia now has a multi-course family-style menu available for carryout. The meal includes a bruschetta starter, a pasta, a chicken, and cannoli for dessert.

Sadly, Café Campli has announced that their last day of service will be Sunday, June 29, since the owners are moving to Italy.

Sour Fest at Max’s

Max’s Taphouse’s annual Sour Fest event starts on June 6 and runs through the weekend. The event is free and fun – during the weekend, Max’s will offer dozens of sour beers.

Hampden Highlights Festival

On Saturday, June 7, the Hampden community is joining together for a huge festival along The Avenue. The event, which is sponsored by The Barn & Lodge at The Rotunda, Ma Petite Shoe, Golden West Café, The Wine Source, The Duchess, and Cobalt Workspace, features live music and artist, plus tons of food.

In addition to the sponsors, food vendors include Catalog Coffee, Ekiben, Emmanuella’s Cuisine, Soul Smoked BBQ, The Food Market, and True Chesapeake – and one of the highlights of the day will be an Ekiben bao bun eating contest.

Baltimore by Baltimore returns

Baltimore by Baltimore, the monthly festival of local talent, kicks off its 2025 season on Saturday. The first Saturday of every month until October, the Inner Harbor Amphitheatre will come alive with music, makers and food.

This month’s event’s theme is “Pride at the Waterfront.” Food and drinks include offerings from the Empanada Lady, Soul Smoked BBQ and Bar Movement.

Clavel at 10

Clavel officiallycelebrated its 10th anniversary on Thursday – congratulations to the entire team for a big milestone.

The Remington restaurant has been hosting lots of fun events and collaborations to mark the occasion. This week, the lineup includes a Wednesday pop-up at Ruse in St. Michael’s.

Cocktails at the Conservatory

On Thursday evening, the Rawlings Conservatory hosts Cocktails at the Conservatory, a boozy fundraising event. The ticketed event includes live music and drinks made by experts from Costiera and Southpaw. All proceeds benefit the Conservatory’s Palm House restoration project.

Bourbon and Cigars at The Manor Tavern

The Manor Tavern is getting a jump on Father’s Day with a Thursday night event dedicated to dads everywhere. The evening features live music, bourbon, cigars, hors d’oeuvres, and the chance to hang out with Hall of Fame running back Joe Washington.

Al fresco cocktails at Rye Street Tavern

Rye Street Tavern has a new lineup of cocktails perfect for enjoying in its outdoor spaces this summer. The menu includes drinks like Watermelon Sugar High, a concoction of vodka, grenadine, lime and watermelon-cucumber, which sounds perfect for a steamy day.
