Hotel Revival has plans to celebrate and honor Black History Month with a line-up of programming designed to showcase food, storytelling, history, journalism, photography and more.

Guests who stay overnight between Feb. 1 and Feb. 29 will receive a limited-edition postcard printed by the I. Henry Photo Project. I. Henry Phillips, Sr. chronicled the working-class experience of 20th Century Baltimore with his remarkable photographs. His grandson, Webster Phillips, III is carrying on this photojournalist tradition by providing these postcards showing his grandfather’s photo history of the city. Guests may keep the I. Henry postcard or send it anywhere in the world from the Hotel Revival front desk, free of charge.

Hotel Revival will also hold the second installment of its workshop series, The Remedy, which promotes self-discovery. In the Feb. 7 session, entitled “Men Deserve Flowers,” Success Coach Jasmine Garland aims to “transcend conventional norms and initiate candid discussions aimed at challenging stereotypes associated with masculinity,” reads the press release announcing the event.

Throughout the month, Hotel Revival will donate 10% of the revenue for rooms booked between Feb. 1 and Feb. 29 to Baltimore Beat, a Black-led nonprofit news outlet serving the Baltimore residents.

On Sunday, Feb. 25, Hotel Revival is hosting its inaugural Community Kickback event. From 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., attendees can enjoy local food trucks, like Soul Smoked BBQ and Dream Street Cuisine. There will also be 20 vendors from which to shop, courtesy of Blk Ass Flea Market.

This Community Kickback event happens just one day before the tip-off of the 2024 CIAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament. With that in mind, Hotel Revival has partnered with The Sneaker Exhibit to bring a resale pop-up to sneakerheads and attendees.

The Community Kickback is a ticketed event. Proceeds will benefit the mental health support center Roberta’s House.

Attendees must be 21 years of age, and IDs will be checked upon entry. Tickets are available for purchase beginning Feb. 4 by clicking this link.

“As we usher in a month dedicated to the dynamic experience of Black storytelling, we’re excited to present this inaugural Community Kickback,” said Ramond Sneed, Hotel Revival’s general manager, in a statement. “My colleagues and I believe in the power of hospitality to make an impact, and this timely celebration is a testament to that ethos.”
