House of Ruth Maryland has announced its spring signature event, โSip, Savor & Support,โ will take place May 3 at the Pendry Baltimore Hotel.
This gathering marks the first-ever ticketed event partnership between a nonprofit organization and the Pendry Baltimore Hotel. Since Sip, Savor & Support is celebrating its 25th year, House of Ruth Maryland wanted to invite guests to an elegant Sunday social.

Taking place from 1โ3 p.m. against the backdrop of the Fells Point waterfront, this yearโs gathering will take the form of a vibrant and modern tea party. Attendees are encouraged to wear their โSunday Bestโ (think spring suits, floral dresses, and fascinators) to celebrate the new chapter of healing for survivors of intimate partner violence.
โWe are entering an incredibly exciting era at House of Ruth Maryland,โ said Katie Allston, the organizationโs new executive director. โAs we look toward our 50th anniversary in 2027, this event serves as a beautiful reminder of what is possible when our community stands together. Itโs an afternoon to celebrate the resilience of survivors and the unwavering support of our partners.โ
The event will begin with a garden cocktail reception in the Pendryโs courtyard with tea-inspired spirits and charcuterie and move into the Grand Ballroom for the main program. Instead of a traditional lunch, guests will have a curated โafternoon teaโ experience, complete with tiered centerpieces featuring gourmet sliders, macarons, and artisanal bites.

The heart of the main program remains the mission of House of Ruth Maryland. Attendees will hear firsthand about the expanding impact of their services, like their Legal Clinic, which helps survivors navigate the legal system, and the Training Institute, which empowers local businesses to create safer, more supportive workplaces.
Every dollar raised helps keep House of Ruth Marylandโs 24/7 lifeline open, available to the 1 in 4 Maryland women who will experience intimate partner violence in their lifetime. The Sip, Savor & Support event helps close the financial gap and provide a path from fear to safety.

As retired social worker, the House of Ruth was a great, welcoming and supportive resource for many of Mayland’s abused girls and women. Thank you for being there!!!
