One month ago, veteran Baltimore politician Frank Conaway, Sr., died at age 81. This week, the Baltimore Sun reports that his family hasn’t been able to find his will. Which is all the more surprising, considering that Conaway’s stepdaughter, Belinda, is the state’s Registrar of Wills.
This is not as big a disaster as it may sound; Belinda Conaway has been able to find a copy of the will, just not the original document. Still, it’s certainly causing the family a little bit of extra stress at a time when that’s probably the last thing they want on their minds.
It’s a good reminder to us all: Make a will! Put it somewhere that makes sense! And then tell your friends and family where you put it!
