Remember 2012?
Flacco in 1st Mariner days.

Football players are known for making big decisions that could lead to a change of scenery in the months between seasons. Even though he signed a big contract last year, Joe Flacco is no different.

On Monday, the Ravens quarterback announced he is switching banks for the 2016-17 season. Instead of 1st Mariner Bank, heโ€™ll be speaking up for M&T Bank. With the deal, Flacco will appear in M&T Bank ads and community events. Thereโ€™s also a Joe Flacco debit card in the works.

Flacco appeared in some high-quality hometown ads for the hometown 1st Mariner Bank. He even got to take a few shots at Pittsburgh. But his talent as a pitch man appeared to be heading for prime time after a Pepsi commercial about throwing a party got a lot of attention. Though M&T Bank is one of those out-of-town corporate banks that Flacco spent one previous ad questioning, thereโ€™s a lot of obvious brand alignment in the deal. M&T owns the naming rights to his stadium and โ€œOfficial Bank of the Baltimore Ravensโ€ status.

Whether this makes Flacco an elite pitchman, however, will surely be debated on social media throughout the season.
