After donating the bulk of his fine art collection to the Baltimore Museum of Art last week, Baltimore writer and filmmaker John Waters is turning his attention to a different art form.
Waters has just been named a presenter at the third annual Pornhub Awards, scheduled for December 15 to celebrate the “biggest and best” stars in the nearly $100 billion adult entertainment industry.
Concern for the health of others is apparently what drew Waters, who once made a movie about “the filthiest person alive,” to take part in the ceremony.
“Good filth-on-demand is what we all need to stay home and be sexually safe and socially distanced in this obscene pandemic,” Waters said in a statement issued by Pornhub. “Giving a Pornhub Award seems like a civic duty to me.”
Other presenters and performers announced for the 2020 awards program include Leah McSweeney, a star of Real Housewives of New York City; Ozuna, a top-selling Latin musician; City Girls, a Miami-based hip-hop duo; comedians Dee Nasty and Jordan Firstman, and Violet Chachki, winner of the seventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Because even porn stars are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 awards program is going virtual this year and will be live-streamed on www.pornhub.com/awards starting at 7 p.m. East Coast time.
