Olszewski announced in May of last year that he would seek a second term.

The Democrat took over the seat in Baltimore County in 2018. He has enacted police reform measures, championed public campaign financing, and overseen the countyโ€™s COVID response.

โ€œWeโ€™ve made record investments in education, made our government more open and accessible than ever before and are leaning into the values of equity and sustainable โ€“ embedding them in our decision-making across county government,โ€ the county executive tweeted Thursday.

Olszewski is the only candidate to publicly announce that he is running for county executive so far.
