The owner of Johnny Radโ€™s is opening a new spot in Highlandtown. Snake Hill will be a sausage-focused tavern at the former location of the Irish Pub.

Owner Rich Pugh posted the news on the Highlandtown Neighbors Facebook group, and Baltimore Business Journalโ€™s Sarah Meehan also followed up with a story.

The new spot, located at 418 S. Clinton St., will feature sausages grilled behind the bar, seeking a variety that runs from Polish and Italian styles to โ€œmore exotic meats and poultry including selections like jalapeรฑo rattlesnake, elk, rabbit and more,โ€ Pugh said. Snake Hill, which takes its name from the neighborhoodโ€™s moniker in the 1880s, will also feature craft beers and a full bar.

Pugh said the permitting process with the city has taken longer than expected, but renovations are expected to begin soon. Heโ€™s eyeing a spring opening.

The neighborhood is no doubt delight and pleased with Pughโ€™s forthcoming announcement, but one burning remains: Will they have skee ball?
