Every 5 minutes, a woman in the U.S. is diagnosed with a ‘below the belt’ gynecologic cancer. These cancers affect more than 100,000 women and cause over 30,000 deaths each year. Race proceeds help fund innovative gynecologic cancer research, support local cancer survivors, and benefit the Susan L. Burgert, M.D. Gynecologic Oncology Survivorship Program at The Kelly Gynecologic Oncology Service in the Johns Hopkins Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
The third annual Below the Belt Stride and Thrive 5K/1-mile Run/Walk will be held at Homewood Field at Johns Hopkins University on Sunday, May 20 at 8:30 am. Registration and race details here. Not in Baltimore that day but interested in participating? Consider our “Beyond the Belt” registration option on the race website! If you cannot participate but are interested in contributing to this important cause, please visit our fundraising page.
