Johns Hopkins Medical School rises in the rankings

Last year was a bad one for everyone’s favorite local behemoth, the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Long touted as one of the nation’s top medical programs, Hopkins slipped to third place — third place! — in the U.S. News & World Report‘s rankings. How embarrassing!

Luckily, it looks like this year is going to be better. U.S. News just released its 2013 list of the top medical programs, and Hopkins is back at its traditional #2 spot. (Harvard annoyingly camps out at #1, and has been there for a while.) And while some might sniff that the school is actually tied for second place (with the University of Pennsylvania), we don’t see any point in quibbling with the good news.
