Calling all novice, beginner, or aspiring-young theatre artists!!! Is your student interested in traveling to a new country each day, exploring new cultures, and learning about stories from all around the globe? Perhaps they are interested in comedy and being able to flex their improv skills? Or are you the parent of the next Broadway star? Wherever the interests lie, Everyman Theatre is proud to offer summer experiences for full-day, full-week programming this July!

Students entering Grades K โ€“ 8 will have their creativity and imaginations met this summer through play, expression of art, and the joy of collaboration! In these experiences, students will be engaged with acting, writing, music, dance, movement, improv, visual arts, devised theatre, and theatre production. Meal options are available for all youth programs.

STORY EXPLORERS (Grades K-2)
Week 1: July 8 – 12

Global Tales
Every day, arrive in a new country. Sail the seas, fly high, and land in new drama adventures! We embark on a journey through dance, music, drama and design in this unique and beautiful sharing of culture through story. Build dramatic language and social-emotional skills through this one-week summer adventure! We anticipate a final sharing of this program at the discretion of the teaching artist.

Fantasy Realms
Pack your spells and potions and get ready to travel to realms filled with magic and adventure! Students will explore new worlds through music, dance, drama, and visual art! Build dramatic language and social-emotional skills through this one-week summer adventure โ€“ and watch out for dragons! We anticipate a final sharing of this program at the discretion of the teaching artist.


PLAY BUILDERS (Grades 3-5)

THEATRE ESSENTIALS
Week 2: July 15 – 19
Join the ensemble as we explore the essentials of theatre! This summer, the play builders will discover what makes theatreโ€ฆtheatre! Students will hone their acting skills, embrace storytelling, and share a small piece of theatre for their friends and family in this one-week experience.

BROADWAY BOUND
Week 2: July 15 โ€“ 19 and Week 3: July 22 โ€“ 26
Put on your dancing shoes and get ready for a song-filled week of theatre! Join the ensemble as we dance our way through this exploration of the essentials of musical theatre. This experience will culminate in a musical performance at the end of the two weeks to share with families and friends and will incorporate visual arts works devised with Gallery Artist in Residence Bryan Robinson.


THEATRE MAKERS (GRADES 6-8)

Play Production
Week 2: July 15 โ€“ 19 and Week 3: July 22 โ€“ 26
Students enter the rehearsal process through an approach rooted in embracing rehearsal as the ultimate teaching tool. Utilizing the professional process as a guide, students develop an ensemble. Then originate a role in a new play written specifically for their cohort. This experience is unique to allow students to flex their design muscles as they imagine key aspects of this production in a multi-purpose space. Memorization is expected in this program. This experience will culminate in a performance at the end of two weeks to share with families and friends and will incorporate visual arts works devised with Gallery Artist in Residence Bryan Robinson.

Comedy Club (Improv)
Week 3: July 22 โ€“ 26
Calling all budding comedians! This week of fun invites creative risk-taking as students curate a witty improvised comedy show to perform for family and friends. With a special focus on sketch-comedy and improvisation games that cultivate core skills of the theatre-artist, students will deepen their appreciation for the diversity of the art form.
