The annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade steps off next week on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. in Baltimore. On Tuesday, organizers named the grand marshals of this yearโs event.
Ravens running back Justin Forsett and The Wire actress Sonja Sohn will lead the procession. Forsett is the Ravensโ hardworking rusher out of the backfield, setting a franchise record for most runs of more than 20 yards in 2014. Following her role as Detective Kima Greggs, Sohn founded the nonprofit Rewind for Change, which seeks to empower youth and families in underserved areas.
The parade is set to roll at noon on Jan. 18. The parade starts at MLK Blvd. and Eutaw St., and heads to Baltimore St. There is a reviewing stand at MLK Blvd. and Franklin St. Organizers are expecting more than 50 groups, including marching bands, dance squads and civic groups. Floats are also expected, with the theme of #OneBaltimore.

will be interesting to see the #OneBaltimore theme works out – I’ve lived here since ’85 and have yet to see #OneBaltimore
