Baltimore County Senior Deputy Administrative Officer Sameer Sidh will be leaving to join Johns Hopkins University and Medicine as director of Maryland Government Affairs, County Executive Kathy Klausmeier announced Friday.
Sidhโs departure is effective Dec. 12, 2025. He has worked for Baltimore County for the last three years to oversee departments in charge of economic development, infrastructure, land use, and sustainability. As Senior Deputy Administrative Officer, Sidh led the redevelopment of Security Square Mall, helped secure the largest affordable housing deal in Baltimore County history, managed the countyโs response to the Key Bridge collapse, and coordinated the countyโs partnership helping the redevelopment of Sparrows Point.
โSameer has been an invaluable member of Baltimore County Governmentโs senior leadership team, guiding some of our most critical operational departments with vision, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to public service. I will miss him greatly,โ Klausmeier said. โWe are deeply grateful for his service, and we wish him the very best as he embarks on this next chapter at Johns Hopkins University and Medicine.โ
Sidh is replacing Michael Huber at Johns Hopkins University and Medicine. Huber left his job managing legislative and regulatory issues at Hopkins to join Gov. Wes Mooreโs administration as one of two deputy chiefs of staff. The move was announced last week as part of a reorganization of Mooreโs administration. Huber will oversee economic development, workforce development, housing, insurance regulation, public health, education, and human services for Moore.
โIt has been an honor to serve the residents of Baltimore County and two great leaders in County Executives Klausmeier and Olszewski,โ Sidh said. โI have spent my career working to advance the Baltimore region, and look forward to continuing that work with the regionโs preeminent institution in Johns Hopkins University and Medicine.โ
