The list of films set to screen outside in this year’s Pics in the Park series downtown includes two new movies with plentiful Oscar buzz, along with some crowd favorites.
The Downtown Partnership of Baltimore today announced the lineup for the free outdoor film series at Center Plaza. The first night, May 27, will feature Disney’s Oscar-nominated animated film “Moana.”
Next up will be the 2016 remake of “Ghostbusters” (June 24), followed by the Christmastime favorite “Elf,” starring Will Ferrell (July 29).
Most will jump at the chance to see “La La Land” on Aug. 26. The film has been nominated for a record-tying 14 Academy Awards this year and is somehow still in theaters almost three months later.
The series will close out with Tim Burton’s classic “Beetlejuice” on Sept. 30.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets. All films will begin at sundown on the lawn at Center Plaza, located at 120 W. Fayette Street.
