Mercy High School
As the longest-tenured leader of a Catholic girls school in Baltimore, Mary Beth Lennon is the first alumna of Mercy High School to serve as its president. Ms. Lennon has led the expansion of Mercy’s academic offerings and campus renewal efforts with more than $14 million in major gifts and grants. The Daily Record named Ms. Lennon one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women in 2011, 2015, and 2018, when she was named to their Circle of Excellence.
What distinguishes your school from other independent schools in our area?
The combination of Mercy High School’s International Baccalaureate Program and Signature Programs are redefining the meaning of academic excellence as we provide our Mercy Girls with experiential learning opportunities to explore future careers. Our Mercy Girls can dive into healthcare-related careers through hands-on experiences at Mercy Medical Center and MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, and our other Signature Programs provide robust internships, service, travel, and leadership training. The result is pure MAGIC! Our Mercy Girls have led among all area Catholic schools in college scholarships per graduating senior for the past four years.

Be Magical. Be Mercy! We want our Mercy Girls to take risks, develop their voices, and pursue their passions without limitations! Our leadership team of accomplished and caring woman leaders creates an environment every day where Mercy Girls can do just that. It’s an honor to watch our Mercy Girls become the Women of Mercy our world needs.
