With just over 100 days until the start of camp, it’s time to make your plans for Summer fun! Whether creating masterpieces in Visual Arts Camp, shining on stage in Imagination Alive or Take Two, or showing off awesome moves in Dance Camp, Summer at Friends is the place to explore your interests and talents in the arts!
Visual Arts Campers (ages 6 – 13) spend their mornings learning about different artists, styles, and techniques. Each day is full of fun projects that allow campers to explore new concepts and their own creativity guided by caring and enthusiastic staff. The rest of the Visual Arts camper’s day will be full of classic summer camp fun like swimming and group games.
Summer at Friends’ theater camp, Imagination Alive, is for kids ages 7-10. Campers spend four weeks activating their imaginations, exploring their innate creativity, working as an ensemble, and building their stage confidence as they write, prepare, and perform a play! Imagination Alive campers spend a portion of their day developing new theater skills like improvisation and playwriting. Other parts of the day include recreational swim and rehearsing for the play.
You could register for the advanced performing arts camp, Take Two, happening from July 15th – July 26th. Take Two is a two week performance intensive for campers ages 10 to 13, tailored to the camper’s interests. Campers have the opportunity to explore various modes of performance and theatre through workshops such as: improvisation, puppetry, monologues, advanced scene work, playwriting, miming, directing, Shakespeare, singing, the art of comedy, and more! Take Two campers also spend part of their camp day developing independent or group performance pieces. Guided by the staff, campers will develop their projects and then present them at Take Two’s Showcase on July 26th. Imagine two weeks full of opportunities to create, imagine, play, and inspire each other!
Dance Camp is back for another two weeks of moving, grooving, friendship, and fun! Campers ages 7, 8, 9 and 10 are invited to join us from July 29th – August 9th for a two week long dance party. Whether you are new to dance or have some experience, Dance Camp focuses on strengthening fundamental techniques while exploring several different styles of dance, such as ballet, jazz, modern, ballroom, and hip-hop. Dance campers are encouraged to explore their creativity and express themselves through developing their own choreography together and independently. Summer at Friends strives to create a safe, fun, and engaging space for campers to dance their hearts out.
All Summer at Friends Fine Arts Camps include daily lunch and snack, plus recreational swim time and other fun activities. Friends’ 35 acre campus houses everything campers need – including a 400 seat auditorium, art studio, and dance studio — so there’s no need to travel!
