With the April 13 release date for “Capture the Flag” fast approaching–don’t let the snow outside fool you–local hardcore group War On Women has put out another track, “Lone Wolves,” from their forthcoming album.
The title refers to the descriptor often used for the men who go on shooting rampages, a continually relevant topic that hits a little close to home in the wake of yesterday’s school shooting in St. Mary’s County.
Over the roar of chugging guitars and drums, vocalist Shawna Potter touches on the entitlement of many of these white male shooters and concludes, “They don’t care if you live, they don’t care if you die, it’s only ever been about control.”
War On Women is playing an album release show at the Ottobar on April 21, with Bully and Shellshag.
