We heard that Luigi’s Italian Market and Deli opened on The Avenue in Hampden, so we sent our intern, Garrison Forest School Senior Rixey Moore, to check it out and snap some pictures to share with you.
More sandwich shop than market, the adorable spot, just a few weeks old, is already attracting crowds, Rixey reports. “It seemed pretty popular. There were a decent amount of people there waiting in line…and it wasn’t lunchtime.”
Luigi’s is in the space that Lovelyarns used to occupy, on the corner of 36th and Elm Avenue. It offers paninis, meatball “chubs,” Italian cold cut sandwiches, antipasti, meats, cheeses and more.
