Baltimore’s fashion scene will soon have another reason to make Harbor East their shopping destination of choice. National retailer Madewell will open in the Harbor East downtown neighborhood, currently projecting an opening date of January 20, 2015.
“We see Madewell and J. Crew complementing each other, it’s a great addition to our eclectic mix of retail we have here in Harbor East,” said Tim O’Donald, President of Harbor East Management Group, Inc. Madewell will occupy approximately a large space at 811 Aliceanna Street in the heart of Harbor East’s retail corridor. The shop will be Madewell’s first location in Baltimore City and the third in Maryland, with boutiques currently in Towson and Bethesda.
Madewell was founded as a denim workwear label in 1937. In 2006 we opened our first store, with designs inspired by Madewell’s workwear beginnings, modernized for today. You’ll find several references to the brand’s origins in our jeans: namely in the washes, stitching and finishes. Our designs are effortless, sexy, cool, tomboy, artful and unexpected.
