The weather is cold but our hearts are warm looking at all of the exciting events happening throughout the month of February.
Whether you’re embracing the cold by skating at Hopkins’ ice rink and going for a brisk run in your skivvies for a good cause, or taking advantage of some warmer indoor events like comedy shows and musical performances, there’s lots to see and do.
Plus, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and there are plenty of opportunities to spend time with a romantic partner, friends, or other people you love.

Primary Trust, ongoing through Sunday, March 2, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. performances, Everyman Theatre. This touching, thought-provoking new play, written by Eboni Booth and directed by Reginald L. Douglas, won a 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and has been hailed as a New York Times Criticโs Pick.
The Lion King, Wednesday, Feb. 12, through Sunday, March 2, Hippodrome Theatre. The majestic creatures of the Pride Lands are visiting Baltimore as they share the story of Disney’s “The Lion King” musical live on stage. See Simba, Timon, Pumba, and all your other favorite characters be brought to life with the help of puppetry.
Everything That Never Happened, Thursday, Feb. 13 through Sunday, March 9, Baltimore Center Stage. What if Shakespeare got it all wrong? Written by Sarah Mantell and directed by Jessica Kubzansky, this story lives between The Merchant of Venice and the realities of Jewish history.
CIAA Basketball Tournament, Tuesday, Feb. 25, doors open at 9 a.m., event begins at 10 a.m., CFG Bank Arena. Collegiate basketball teams will compete in the Food Lion CIAA Menโs and Womenโs Basketball Tournament.
KRS-One, Thursday, Feb. 27, doors 7 p.m., show 8 p.m., Baltimore Soundstage. KRS-One is stopping by Soundstage with special guests Eze Jackson, Ullnevano feat. God Sense, Sistah Dee, Kudo Nyc and DJ Excel.

HoCo Open 2025 and Chroma, ongoing through Feb. 1. Howard County Arts Council announced two new exhibits on view at the Howard County Center for the Arts. HoCo Open 2025 is an annual salon-style, non-juried exhibit showcasing artwork in a variety of media by local artists. Chroma features abstract work by Cheri Glover, Josef Keyes, and LUSMERLIN.
Water’s Edge: Black Watermen of the Chesapeake, Saturday, Feb. 1, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Reginald F. Lewis Museum. IMET invites the public to celebrate Black History Month in partnership with the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, celebrating African Americans and Labor with a film screening and panel discussion on Marylandโs Black watermen. This program will also commemorate the memory of Vincent Leggett, founder of the Blacks of the Chesapeake Foundation.
Lunar New Year Celebration: Year of the Snake, Saturday, Feb. 1, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Peabody Heights Brewery. Peabody Heights Brewery and NAAAP Baltimore are joining forces to celebrate Lunar New Year! No admission charge, and a new beer release: SALAK – Snake Fruit Inspired Beer. There will be food by Ekiben, activities like a money tree, Snakes & Ladders, and paper chain snakes, and you can browse the wares of Asian-owned business vendors, and more!
Dover Quartet with Inon Barnatan, Sunday, Feb. 2, 5:30 p.m., Shriver Hall. The Grammy-nominated Dover Quartet returns to Shriver Hall, joined by star pianist Inon Barnatan.
Mike Birbiglia: Please Stop the Ride, Tuesday, Feb. 4 and Wednesday, Feb. 5, 7 p.m., Baltimore Center Stage. Don’t miss comedian, writer, director, and actor Mike Birbiglia’s highly anticipated new show, coming to Baltimore for two nights only.
Baltimore Record Bazaar Vinyl Nite, Friday, Feb. 7, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Peabody Heights Brewery. DJ Mikie Love and friends will be spinning and selling vinyl in the taproom at this free, family-friendly event.
Hans Zimmer Live, Friday, Feb. 7, doors open at 7 p.m., event begins at 8 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. Film composer Hans Zimmer, the mind behind the music of some of your favorite films like “Inception” and “Pirates of the Caribbean,” will perform selections from the movie soundtracks.
Astro Adventure, Saturday, Feb. 8, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Maryland Science Center. Participate in some celestial activities, from astronaut training to collecting space samples.
Cupid’s Undie Run, Saturday, Feb. 8, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., The Admiralโs Cup in Fells Point. Band together and slip into high gear to find a cure for NF โ a group of genetic conditions that includes all types of neurofibromatosis and schwannomatosis. Wei Zhu and Hui-Chuan Chen, Saturday, Feb. 8, 3 p.m., Baltimore Museum of Art. Get to know the artistry of violinist Wei Zhu, winner of the 2024 Yale Gordon Competition and one of Peabody Conservatoryโs top talents. Concert pianist, chamber musician, and educator Hui-Chuan Chen will accompany on piano.
The Second Saturday S#!T Show feat. Violet Gray, Saturday, Feb. 8, doors 7 p.m., show 8 p.m., Ottobar. Join host Mike Quindlen for a night of hilarity and passion as he welcomes headliner Violet Gray; featured comedians Quadir Yussuf, Kaelin Clements, Kreg Paul, Nathan Scahill; and special guest Chris Wolf to the stage.
Galentine’s Day Flamingle, Sunday, Feb. 9, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Maryland Zoo. Get a group of friends together for an afternoon at the Maryland Zoo during the Galentineโs Flamingle Drag Brunch. The event includes an open bar, brunch buffet, and drag queen performances inspired by pop princesses. Attendees will also be visited by the Zooโs animal ambassadors.
Disney on Ice, Thursday, Feb. 13, through Monday, Feb. 17, CFG Bank Arena. Come out to Mickey’s Search Party, where characters from your favorite Disney movies will perform on the ice.
Sex at the Zoo, Friday, Feb. 14, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Maryland Zoo. Learn about romance within the animal kingdom and meet some of the Zoo’s animal ambassadors. The event will also feature โKiss and Tellโ lipstick reading, a fine whiskey tasting, live music, photo ops, a silent auction, and more. This is an adults-only event. Sophisticated attire is encouraged.
Zoraโs Room: “Love Is, Love Ainโt,” Friday, Feb. 14, 7 to 10 p.m., The Fitzgerald. Join Zora’s Room for an immersive celebration of Black identity, storytelling, and belonging. The evening will feature powerful storytelling from eight local creatives; immersive art, curated work, and augmented reality (AR) experiences that bring history to life in a modern way; and themed mocktails and cocktails, crafted to spark connection.

Maryland Opera presents the โHeritage Seriesโ, Sunday, Feb. 16, 3 p.m., Grace United Methodist Church in North Baltimore. This concert is one of two planned honoring longtime advocates of opera. The Feb. 16 concert honors Drs. Mahin Shamszad and Homayoon Farzadegan. The program for Feb. 16 includes selections from โIl barbiere di Siviglia,โ โCarmen,โ โInto the Woods,โ and more. Hopkins Ice Rink, ongoing through Sunday, Feb. 23, parking lot next to Johns Hopkins Universityโs Imagine Center for Integrative Learning and Life Design, 113 West University Parkway. Show off your skating skills as Johns Hopkins University brings back its temporary ice rink for the fourth year. Hopkins faculty, staff and students can skate during weekday sessions; meanwhile, both Hopkins affiliates and the general public can skate during weekend sessions. Maple Magic, Saturday, Feb. 15 and Sunday, Feb. 23, 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m., Irvine Nature Center. Discover magic in the trees this winter with Irvine naturalists as they guide groups through the woods to identify sap-producing trees, tap them for sap collection, and learn how sap is converted to syrup. American Craft Made Baltimore, Friday through Sunday, Feb. 21 – Feb. 23, Baltimore Convention Center. There will be hands-on activities, craft demonstrations, events and parties to attend, and more.
